If you thought our ice storm from mid January was something spectacular, you should see what parts of Switzerland have been going through.

These photos show what happens when you combine a large body of water (Lake Geneva) with winds gusting over 40 mph and temperatures that hadn't seen the warmer side of 25F in a week.

Central Europe has had a winter for the ages. In fact, you could say this is their version of Seattle's January 1950 winter as some spots there have been dealing with sub-freezing temperatures for weeks on end.

02/20/12--17:23: There's stubborn, then there's this pile of snow in Everett (chan 1267257)

I'm sure it's not a Guinness record or anything, but I was sure surprised to find there are still some remnants of our snow storm last month *still* hanging around!

This still relatively large pile of snow was found at the Everett recycle station off Airport Road Wednesday morning -- a full 27 days after it last snowed.

Anyone who has lived here for any significant amount of time knows the weather is quite variable around here, but Tuesday might take it to the extreme.
